TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL

Toastmasters International is an organization providing tools that will enable you to develop your Speaking, Leadership and organizational skills. In Toastmasters, you learn by doing - by preparing and presenting speeches! As a member of Toastmasters, you will join the ranks of some 200,000 members in more than 10,500 clubs in 90 countries. Toastmasters was the brain-child of Dr. Ralph C. Smedley, who organized the first group in 1924. Members would take turns presenting and evaluating speeches in a structured meeting format. As more clubs were formed, Toastmasters International was incorporated under California law on December 19, 1932. As a member of a local Toastmaster club, you will have the support of other club members, and the Toastmasters International organization as a whole. You will be guided at your own pace, and your development depends on your involvement in your club. Your Speaking and organizational skills will develop noticeably as you advance through the various projects.
