Sunday October 4th was a lovely evening at Paradise Beach Hotel where the Joint Toastmasters Club Speech and Evaluation contests was staged.
Gloria Williams won the Humorous speech contest while Jo Elliot won the Evaluation contest. We congratulate them and wish them all the best at the District Competitions in Barbados on October 17th.
Champs, please remember that our next meeting will be on October 22nd 2009 not on October 15th. More on this later.

Hi fellow committee members, functionaries and contestants,
My heartiest congratulations on a job well done on Sunday. Kudos to the winner of the Humorous Speech Contest Gloria and the Evaluation Contest Jo.
Of course all of you who agreed and made the effort and had the mum to compete - congratulations to you all - Nigel, Gloria, Jo, Anika, Garcia, Ryan and Marlon. Well done!!
Thanks a lot to my committee for being there to help make the event the success it was. I know some of you had difficulties which made you unable to participate as much as you would have liked, but your hearts and thoughts were always with us I know.
Now it’s off to Barbados for some of us and we will do our best to represent St. Vincent Toastmasters. Jo and Gloria will show them what we are made of for the contests on Saturday 17th and we will all have a fabulous time I know while learning from and with and sharing with fellow Caribbean Toastmasters next week end. To that end, the 8 of us will meet tomorrow to plan things, in particular the cultural presentation which Jo has quite efficiently thought out and organised for us. See the Barbados crew at Healthy Lifestyles at 5:30PM.
Once again, thank you, all of you, from the contest chair Ken who so graciously pitched in pretty late in the game because of the family challenges with Wendie and did a fantastic job, to the committee members, contestants and all other functionaries. Thanks to all of you, our contest was once again a resounding success. Let’s keep this up guys.
